Things To Do in Bromyard

Take a selfie!

It may sound odd for a traditional market town to encourage you into the digital realm, but our distinctive art murals and installations allow just that. The ‘B for Bromyard’ mural is a bit of fun to engage kids and grown ups alike. Can you hold the Bee in your hand?

Think about all the tourists who take a photo holding up the leaning tower of Pisa, or catching the sun or moon in their hands. Why not whip your mobile phone out and capture your best pic. Don’t forget to tag #destinationbromyard for a reshare on our social media channels.

As a mum and a designer, I thought I’d incorporate something playful into the town with the ‘B for Bromyard’ mural. I know my two children would want to try and capture a picture of them kissing the bee or holding the bee, and it also incorporates the wildlife surrounding Bromyard with the gorse flower.

Stroll around the shops

Visit the independent traders along the High Street, which turns into Broad Street before reaching the Market Square. You will find vintage furniture and antiques, gift shops, florists, butchers, bakers, clothes shops, jewellers, health & beauty salons, as well as plant,  book shop and pet shops. With many towns and cities rammed with chain stores, Bromyard is a breath of fresh air and with some gems along its streets.

Whatever you’re looking for, our lovely shops have anything you need and supporting the independent high street has never been so important.

Have a pint

With our three great pubs, you’re spoilt for choice: the Queen’s Arms, the King’s Arms and The Rose & Lion (The Rosie) all offer a great atmosphere and a more than decent pint. You can choose from an array of beverages but of course we’d always recommend our local Wye Valley Brewery ales on tap.

Embrace the countryside

Bromyard is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with plenty of walks and stunning views. The Bromyard Downs is always a great place to start but be sure to check out Brockhampton Estate, Ralph Court Gardens and Moors Meadow to really discover the nature we love and nurture in Herefordshire.

Check out our Bromyard Directory for the full listings of the places in this article  and many more.
