Herefordshire Trail
You may have seen the signs around Bromyard town for the Herefordshire Trail, but have you ever walked it? This trail covers 150 miles of spectacular countryside, linking 5 market towns, Bromyard, Leominster, Kington, Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury.
There is no expectation to walk the total 150 miles all in one go – but this spring you could start exploring the Herefordshire Trail around the Bromyard area. Perhaps you might be inspired to complete the whole trail – what an adventure!
Brockhampton/Bringsty
A 7 mile walk sounds daunting but is perfect if you can make a day of it. This walk travels through two commons, via a lively pub, two tea rooms and two stately homes – so there is plenty to take in and several pit stops along the way.
This route starts opposite Brockhampton school and the route can be followed using these directions.
Bromyard Downs
This walk starting just outside the Conquest Theatre covers five miles of the beautiful Bromyard Downs. The route takes you through the historical town of Bromyard, past the haunted Avenbury Church and along the river Frome. If you’ve never explored the Bromyard Downs before, this is the route to take.
Stoke Lacy
If you fancy a walk with plenty of refreshments, then this might be the one for you. Starting at Stoke Lacy church this five and a half mile walk takes you directly past two pubs and an award-winning brewery. So although this walk might be long, there are plenty of stops to rest and fuel the body!
