Winter in Bromyard

Winter can be a super busy time for some, and it feels good to have a calendar packed full of Christmas events, meet-ups with family and Christmas shopping, but sometimes it’s nice to stay close to home and enjoy the local festivities.

Here is our guide to winter in Bromyard;

Check out the Christmas Lights

The Christmas lights have become a huge part of Bromyard’s festive season and it’s not surprise why. The lights are built entirely by a team of volunteers and the display is completely unique every year. So, whenever you head into town post dusk you will be greeted with the magical Christmas display.

Conquest Theatre

For some people, going to the theatre over Christmas is a tradition. In Bromyard we are lucky enough to have a lively theatre that holds a variety of events and shows. Fancy seeing the Royal Ballet perform the Nutcracker or perhaps watching the Wind Band’s Christmas Concert? Even if going to the theatre is a new experience for you, it may become a Christmas tradition. Get there early in December to see Dick Whittington by local company Our Star Theatre – the annual Christmas Panto!

Discover Walks

Even though the months are getting colder, now would be the perfect time to try out a new walking route. Have you ever followed the Herefordshire trail or seen the view from the Bromyard Downs? These are just a few options to choose from, with Bromyard surrounded by beautiful countryside there is endless places to walk and explore.

Cosy Cafes

There’s nothing better than warming your hands around a hot drink – our personal favourite is a hot chocolate. Bromyard is not short of places to grab a hot drink and let’s not forget the cake! Here are some of the best spots in town:
1. Brew
2. Emma’s Farmhouse
3. Oaklands
